Is it thy will, thy image should keep open
My heavy eyelids to the weary night?
Dost thou desire my slumbers should be broken,
While shadows like to thee do mock my sight?
Is it thy spirit that thou send'st from thee
So far from home into my deeds to pry,
To find out shames and idle hours in me,
The scope and tenor of thy jealousy?
O, no! thy love, though much, is not so great:
It is my love that keeps mine eye awake:
Mine own true love that doth my rest defeat,
To play the watchman ever for thy sake:
For thee watch I, whilst thou dost wake elsewhere,
From me far off, with others all too near.

Defining Shakespeare's Quill
What is the purpose of this site?

Shakespeare's Quill doesn't, technically, have much of a defined purpose. It is a place to air my mind and a respite from reality: a method by which I may define myself. An exercise in ego, perhaps?

What's in a name?

I first thought of the name Shakespeare's Quill several years ago during a Message Board discussion. The topic asked the question "If you could be any item, past of present, what it would it be?" My instant response was that I'd like to have been a Quill used by William Shakespeare. The name has stayed in my mind and when I was searching for a domain it seemed the perfect title. So, what would you have been?
